FAQS
How does security and technology consulting work?
It is a preliminary consultation that examines aspects of the custody chain, such as participants, route, and potential vulnerabilities. It takes place before system implementation and is necessary to configure the geofence.
What is Custody Chain Management?
Custody Chain Management refers to the process of ensuring the integrity and security of assets throughout the custody cycle. This includes using technologies such as electronic seals and smart locks, as well as tracking and monitoring systems to prevent and detect violations.
What is the difference between passive and active
electronic seals?
Active Electronic Seal and Passive Electronic Seal differ primarily in how they operate and their power sources:
Active Electronic Seal:
- Power Source: Contains an internal power source, like a battery, which allows it to function independently.
- Functionality: Capable of continuous, real-time monitoring, transmitting data, and often includes features like GPS tracking.
- Range and Connectivity: Typically has a longer read range and may connect via cellular or satellite networks for real-time data transmission.
- Use Cases: Ideal for high-value or sensitive cargo that requires constant monitoring and tracking.
Passive Electronic Seal:
- Power Source: Does not have a built-in power source; it is activated by an external RFID or NFC reader.
- Functionality: Primarily used for event-based monitoring (e.g., recording when a seal is broken). It does not continuously transmit data.
- Range and Connectivity: Shorter read range since it relies on nearby RFID or NFC readers to retrieve data.
- Use Cases: Suitable for applications where occasional, checkpoint-based monitoring is sufficient, providing a cost-effective solution without battery dependence.
